Show Overview
Heated Rivalry: The Musical Parody! is a live musical comedy send-up of a beloved queer hockey romance, reimagining the story of Shane Hollander and Ilya Rosanov as a fast, scrappy stage spectacle. On the ice, they are sworn rivals. Off the ice, their connection becomes harder and harder to ignore.
Meanwhile, another romance unfolds between hockey star Scott Hunter and local smoothie barista Kip Grady, while an eccentric supporting cast of commentators, parents, intimacy coordinators, and assorted chaos agents fills out the world around them. Blending affectionate parody with original songs, theatrical mayhem, and a full ensemble, the show expands the world of Heated Rivalry into an outrageous musical comedy event.
Created by Quick & Funny Musicals, the longtime Upright Citizens Brigade Los Angeles musical comedy team, Heated Rivalry: The Musical Parody! has played sold-out performances in Los Angeles and now heads to the Edinburgh Fringe at Gilded Balloon Patter House .

The Company
Quick & Funny Musicals, a longtime Upright Citizens Brigade mainstay, has been writing and performing original and parody comedy musicals for more than 15 years. The company is built around making ambitious, ridiculous shows quickly and putting them in front of an audience before anyone can talk them out of it.
Its alumni include Rachel Bloom, creator of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend; comedy choreographer Kat Burns; Chris Grace of Superstore; and a long list of Broadway performers, television actors, and film and TV comedy writers. The team writes the book, songs, and staging for each show in a single month, building a repertoire of musical comedies that are scrappy by design and proudly overcommitted in execution.
